I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Antipa Museum in Bucharest on the remarkable Night of the Museums 2023, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. As an avid museum-goer, I have visited numerous institutions worldwide, and Antipa Museum truly stands out among the rest.

From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with an inviting atmosphere and a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The Night of the Museums event enhanced the ambiance, as the museum buzzed with excitement, captivating exhibitions, and numerous interactive activities for visitors of all ages.

The vast array of exhibits at Antipa Museum is simply breathtaking. Every corner I turned, I was met with beautifully curated displays that showcased the wonders of nature and the diversity of life on Earth. The museum's attention to detail and dedication to providing informative content is commendable. Each exhibit is accompanied by comprehensive explanations and engaging multimedia presentations that ensure a rich learning experience.

One of the highlights of my visit was the Night of the Museums exclusive activities. The museum truly went above and beyond to make this evening unforgettable. From live performances to workshops, there was something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the interactive displays, where I had the chance to touch various animal artifacts, explore virtual reality experiences, and even witness live demonstrations by passionate experts.

The Night of the Museums event created an electric atmosphere that brought together art enthusiasts, families, and curious individuals from all walks of life. The energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and it truly made the visit a memorable one.

Furthermore, I must commend the museum's staff for their unwavering dedication and professionalism. They were always on hand to answer questions, provide additional information, and share intriguing anecdotes about the exhibits. Their passion for the museum's mission was evident and enhanced my overall experience.

I cannot recommend the Antipa Museum enough. Whether you're a nature lover, history enthusiast, or simply looking for an entertaining and educational outing, this museum has it all. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to visit on the Night of the Museums 2023, as it made the entire experience even...

This used to be my favorite museum in Romania, ever. A large, bright, natural light, thousant of exponates museum. Not anymore...Mixed feelings after a long fully remodelling/renovation process, finished few years ago. Today's (2016 Sept) museum is just a building where science meets Disney Land. Nice dioramas but they dropped the ball with a color/hue changing lights system that brings a psychedelic 70's disco appeal thru the whole section. From pitch dark to magentas, cyan, greens and fake yellow in less than a minute, all in a harsh, unnatural spot light. And another mistake is the lack of natural light. An unfortunate and embarasing theme park forcefully transplanted in to a science museum. But, well... where else you can find a stuffed magenta bold eagle that turns to teal in mere seconds ? The way the lighting and colors were choose... would not surprised me if the museum will show some fiberglass pokemons soon. Seriously...beyound embarasing ..Most of the displays, screens and so we're not functional, the gift shop was mediocre, filled with Chinese generic imported trinkets. Bad: unfortunatelly the museum still charges a fee that is an artifact from old communist Romania...some 10 lei (2.5 $, in 2016) per person to take pictures inside. On top of the entrance fee... A bad management decision in today's open society and world. They could get more notorious online if they would not discouraged the free publicity given by the people taking photos. Overall a nice (just) place to visit in a rainy day in Romania's capital, but as a naturally history museum I would not recomand it unless you are looking for some specific specimens, as I did with their most precious possesion, the Deinotherium skeleton, one of the best...

Review for September 2022: This is an experience worthwhile of your time! If you have kids, bring them & they will definitely love it! There are also some additional exhibitions (additional tickets needed). The alive butterfly exhibition was super interesting and definitely won't be forgotten by our little onw. You could admire palm sized butterflies flying around you, with really nice colors. Never before did I witness anything like that.

Would definitely recommend it because: it depicts natural-size animal figures from Romania and all over the world. has Braille signs. has interactive tablets (monitors) detailing each animal (click & read) museum has three floors on which we can see very detailed dioramas. Take your time and budget 1.5h inside as a "fast forward" approach. The more, the better.

Tickets may be bought online on their site there's the link, but also at their ticket sale area. Mid of the week, there was no waiting time.

Payment is possible by card or cash. Parking around is available, (paid parking) but since it is exactly in the city center - expect limited...

I have already visited this museum in Bucharest several times with a child. And each time we see the exhibits from a new angle. The first time is a child's delight! In subsequent times, we have already studied each hall in more detail. Here you can see the inhabitants of different parts of the Earth, seas and oceans - the exhibits are grouped thematically accordingly. They are presented in the form of stuffed animals and exhibits in flasks (this should be taken into account when visiting the museum). I noticed that many exhibits are over 200 years old! There are separate rooms with a large collection of insects, with minerals, an anatomical room and part of the history. There is something to show and tell children of different ages. And of course, the skeletons of dinosaurs and other extinct large animals (see my photo) - this is what we visited this museum for the first time - a complete delight! All inscriptions and comments there are in two languages - Romanian and English. This museum is definitely worth visiting! And keep in mind that on weekends there are many visitors.
